upon entering,

upon entering, i should like to find a bright, cheerful, well-lit, welcoming entryway. (wall colors and crocs, maybe not so much.)

upon entering, what i actually find is a dark claustrophobic little cupboard. cozy though, when two people and three dogs are crammed into a spot the size of an elevator. oh, i love our little house. but it doesn't mean i'm not planning for the next one. (years and years away, but i'll be ready for it!) 

do you find these problem spots in your house? with no solution, other than the escape of a daydream?
