oh my moomin.

October 26, 2009

remember the book i was so desperately trying to recall? (blogged here.) and i had absolutely no information about it, other than a random description of scratchy drawings and things that were neither people nor animals?

well, will the wonders of the internet never cease. i randomly stumbled over the answer while scoping out a new online shop and corresponding blog. (mieke willems, in fact.)

so here it is: tales from moomin valley by tove jansson. it's part of a whole series, and there are tons of books and comics and things to get all involved it!

here's some of her art. it's raw and a little scary, and of course i hated it when i was a kid. but i can't wait to get my hands on that book again!

not too shabby, huh? if you want to explore more of the collection of tove jansson, the moomintrove is a wonderful place to start. now, i'm off to furiously enter isbns into abebooks and try to track down the perfect copy!

2 notes:

  1. Congrats! A modern internet miracle!!! I love when things work themselves out when you least expect it.

  2. Aw! I just read Moominpappa at Sea this year for the first time. I wish I could have been the one to help you figure it out! Happy you know which one it is, though!
