so we finally bit the bullet

and indulged in a very nice camera

one that focuses on things

near and far.

and after months of research

found an embarrassingly good deal

on my good old friend craigslist.

and so, even though i'm a bit terrified of this machine

{ and i confess a moment of jaw drop

when i realized i couldn't use the screen as a viewfinder. 

and well, i can't shut just one eye

which resulted in some hilariously bad takes. }

i took 2.5 hours of vintage shots today

and am skipping with pleasure

at how nicely they turned out

i'm a

genius.

and of course i had my

lovely little photo assistant.

she only blew snot on the lens once.

{ she's a quick learner. }

and so she deserved

a photo session of her own.
