( camp )

June 16, 2011

this year, summer has been different.
i am not thinking of fancy dinners, bikini bodies or summer wardrobes.

my heart's been leaning toward the feeling of camp.
cabins and cottages on quiet lakes where damp towels and sandy feet
are as welcome as a favorite dog-eared book and another cold beer.

the kind of place where you can relax, dawdle, nap and just forget.

the grass is long, there's weeds in the flower beds
the paint might be peeling, but everyone feels at home.

a place with no airs, but plenty of grace.
and this prefab design by jens risom makes my heart feel right at home.
deep breath.

perfect, isn't it?
