an unusual find...

picked from an old art collector, an original puppet and painting.

i chatted with the collector for a bit, to find out as much as i could about this pair.

probably from a detroit artist, done in the late 70's.

we both guessed the painting was done as a study for the puppet.

i love his surly sourpuss face.

the funny, handstitched clothing.

and the careful jointing of the knee & finishing of the feet.

art pieces are always hard for me to part with.
