pop up shop

April 1, 2013

hallo loveys. it's finally april and the sun is getting stronger as the days stretch out longer and longer. i do love that late night light. i have a little surprise for you portlanders this april! there's an oh, albatross pop up shop happening at maven collective this month! 15 one-of-a-kind animals are available for one month only. (and a handful of one-of-a-kind wee beasties, too!) each one dressed for the transitional months between winter and spring... that confusing sort of time when you want to wear floaty dresses and long underwear at the same time.

i wish i could have drummed up an excuse to visit portland and see the shop in person, but alas, it's not in the cards this year. (there was a dramatic sigh to go with that statement, just so you know.) maven collective is curated by some of my favorite vintage shopkeepers, and it promises to be a delight at every turn. follow them on twitter and instagram for lots of sneak peeks!

it's the first time i've agreed to do this kind of project, and i've been stitching for months to get ready. a bit of a learning experience, just in the time and mindset needed to work towards a cohesive collection. (i often lean toward working on one or two pieces at a time, and i think there were usually about seven or eight pieces in rotation on my worktable for most of this winter.) i love how the whole group came together and i hope my portland readers get a chance to visit them in person!
