the sun was shining as

i walked out of the house

with neither coat

nor mittens.

and i got to thinking

about spring

and jelly shoes.

oh, how i longed for jelly shoes.

and i just may indulge my 6-year-old wishes

if i ever find a pretty pair like this.

they conveniently fulfill glass slipper fantasies, too.
