these fine days

September 10, 2012

on saturday, we cut & split wood, swept a post-rain lake out of the second floor,
(this looks somewhat like zen gardening but with a back-breaking effort)
raked a sea of pea gravel in preparation for cement to be poured,
and went to tractor supply. there's a real country treat for you.

on sunday, i was rewarded with a trip to the flea and a great find...
a gigantic mature jade plant that required furniture rearranging to fit into the house.
it's too big for the house really, but i couldn't leave it behind.

i've been looking forward to this week for awhile.
the house gets a roof and a floor. by the end of the month, windows!
it's the small things in life, isn't it?

i listened to this song, on repeat, the whole weekend long.
we can all sing it together this week...
